Papafragkas

Papafragkas beach is located right next to the archaeological site of Prehistoric Fylakopi. It took thousands of years for nature to create the unique landscape of Papafragka with its narrow landforms resisting erosion and creating creeks, openings and caves. Difficult climbing to the very small sandy beach of Papafragka needs attention but swimming with the cliffs rising around you is a unique experience.

Do not leave Papafragka without passing through the important prehistoric settlement of Fylakopi. Tradition wants the area to be named after a Catholic priest who sheltered his boat in the protected bay.
