Gerontas beach
Gerontas beach is located on the southwest coast of Milos. It is an unspoiled, hidden treasure with wild natural beauty. Its main feature is the arch-shaped rock between the sea and the land on the right side of the beach. It is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the southern side of the island. It is an impressive, small cove surrounded by high white cliffs with dark sand, clear blue waters, and fantastic caves to be explored. The beach is not organized and there is shade only in the early morning. Although secluded, it gathers lots of visitors during the summer period.
It is accessible by a dirt track, in a relatively good condition. You will need to walk through the quarry area, which adds another 10 minutes on your route. But for sure you will be rewarded by the beauty of the beach and the landscape. To get to the beach you have to drive towards Achivadolimi and then Provatas. After passing Provatas there is a dirt road where you can also find a sign that will help you not to get lost. At the end of the road there is a parking lot. From that point a path starts that crosses the quarry and leads to the beautiful beach. Of course, there is an alternative and easier way to reach the beach and this is by boat.
