Cheronissos beach
This beach is situated at the end of a well-protected bay and is always calm. The beach is small but beautiful, easily reachable by car or bus. It has nice sand and some tamarisk trees for shade. The water is clear and refreshing and easy to get in and out. A public shower is available and a changing room too. The beach has still a feeling of a Greek fishermen's village and is very popular with Greek families. The lovely bay is ideal for snorkeling, sup and canyoning.
There are two tavernas to eat and a mini market for all the basics. An added bonus is a pottery right on the beach. The small beach, does get a bit crowded in high season but if you arrive early you can get some space under the trees. Cherronisos beach is a great place to relax, read you books, swim, eat and tan your bodies under the lovely Grecian sun. It is at the northern end of Sifnos, an interesting drive though a more rural part of the island. The twenty-minute drive from Apollonia is worth it. All in all, a beautiful and picturesque beach, very peaceful and great for families with small children. Worth adding it on your bucket list if you plan to visit the magical island of Sifnos.
