Vorina beach
When the northerly wind is just a breeze, hiking the steep, wild trail to Vorina beach is a good option. The large bay of Vorina turns into an immense lake of dark blue and turquoise shades. It's a bit of a hike down (and back up) but the setting is incredible. Beautiful stunning views with sheer cliffs down to vividly colored water. Access is not easy, which adds to its charm and very few make the effort. The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebbles with easy entry for a dip. There are no facilities, so bring in your own water and food for the day. Because it faces north you need to choose the right day to visit, but if you hit a day when it's clear and calm this is one of the most spectacular beaches on the island. The beach is located on the island’s northern coast in an uninhabited area. It is accessible only on foot via a footpath that starts from the church of Agia Paraskevi off the left-hand side of the Hora – Ano Meria Road. It is a 30-minutes’ walk, but worthwhile.
