Afandou beach
The beach is clean and long so there is a lot of space for everyone. It is so large that it is never crowded and you can easily find a very quiet peaceful spot. A nice beach for someone to cool off but if you want bars and liveliness this beach is not for you. The water is super clear but the sea goes deep quite quickly, so people with kids please take note. The beach itself has shingle rather than sand but is very easy on the feet. On entering the sea, it is also full of pebbles so water shoes are probably a must. There are many areas that have sun beds and shades and some watersport places to hire jet ski and try all kind of inflatable rides. Some canteens for refreshments are available and some taverns for food too. Across the road is the golf club and at the far left some caves to explore. If you are not keen on sand and you are looking for a very tranquil beach with some lovely cafe bars this is the right place for you. Afandou beach is 19km from Rhodes Town and access is very easy.
