Kerasia beach
Kerasia beach on Corfu Island is a perfect destination for swimming and snorkeling. There is lots of fish to see and swimming here is amazing. The contrast of the green hills covered in olives and cypress trees with the blue of the water and the almost blindingly white pebbles make this a magical place to spend a day.
Kerasia is a pebble beach with clear and warm water which may shelve a little too steeply for some. The whole atmosphere on the beach is very relaxed and the view towards the coast of Albania and the pretty harbor of Kouloura on Corfu is magnificent. Shady sunbeds are available for hire, but are pretty much all gone before lunchtime in high season. There is a tiny shop with basic beach stuff and two cafes, as well as a taverna with fresh fish and traditional Greek food at one end. A free car park is available right on the beach but parking here is difficult during the summer months because the beach gets very crowded. There are big boats moored offshore in the bay and hire boats tied up at the jetty next to the taverna.
Overall, Kerasia is a very pretty beach at the end of the road after going through the magnificent Agios Stefanos village. The road down is a bit steep but not tricky to get up and down. Agios Stefanos is about a kilometer and a half away, although there is coastal path from Kalami to the bay enabling it to be reached on foot after a walk of around half an hour. The beach can get busy, but it is still fun and great for swimming and relaxing. A must visit.
Tip: Keep right into the coast as there are frequent boats arriving at the two small piers. Moreover, avoid the weekends when the locals tend to visit this beach as park space is limited.
