Trypiti beach
You can walk to Tripiti beach following a path either from Vatsiana or Korfos. The walk to the beach from Vatsiana is about 3.5km and takes you around 1h and 15mins to get there. You have to walk down the road along the sea through the ruins of a couple old villages along the way. The name of the beach is after the hole (trypa in Greek) in the rock. By the side of the beach there is a wooden chair that marks the southernmost part of the European continent. It was built by some Russian scientists that live permanently on the island. The height of the chair is double the height of an adult. Keep in mind that access to the top of the cliff where the chair sits, require a bit of climbing.
This is a pebble beach with crystal clear water. It is a very nice and quiet beach, perfect for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing. Behind the beach, there is a dried sea lake with stone signs visible on google maps. On the beach itself, there are the remnants of a refugee boat that landed there a couple of years ago. If you plan to visit Tripiti beach, take plenty of water with you and wear appropriate shoes (not flip flops). Early in the day, the walk is not too strenuous, and totally worth the effort. If you stay till late, try to come back before it gets dark (around 20:20 in early August). Tripiti Beach is frequented by naturists but you can also find some others fully clothed.
