Patmos

Patmos Island in the Dodecanese, is best known as the place where divine visions inspired Saint John to write the Book of Revelation in the Holy Cave of the Apocalypse. Designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Patmos is a cultural and religious center with the monastery of St. John to loom over the island. The towering monastery was established in 1088 and still contains original structures dating to the 11th century.

But holidaymakers visit Patmos not only for its religious landmarks but also for its authentic Greek charm. Despite being a tiny island, it is packed with things to see and do.
