The 7th International Film Festival of Kimolos returns this year with exciting innovations and valuable new international collaborations. Visitors and guests can look forward to a selection of captivating films from around the world, along with many surprises. For the seventh consecutive year, Kimolos will become a hub for top professionals in the global film industry, offering an unforgettable experience for film lovers and industry insiders alike.
The festival showcases a diverse range of films, including Greek productions, international short and feature films, as well as documentaries. Previous editions have featured works from emerging filmmakers such as Manuel de Coco and Alexis Bruchon, who have since gone on to successful careers, as well as established directors like Adilkhan Yerzhanov, Armando Bo, and many others. Numerous distinguished guests attend the festival, including representatives from renowned film festivals such as Cannes, Cairo, Tallinn Black Nights, and Avanca.

The Assumption of the Virgin Mary is celebrated every August 15th with evening prayers in the metropolitan church and the litany of the icons in the streets of Chorio accompanied by a military band. A great feast also takes place in Chorio with local music and dances, οorganized by a local cultural association.
On September 13, is the eve day of the celebration of the Holy Cross. That day the residents of the island light up a fire and burn the wreaths and the bouquets of May Day. The custom is called Kapsalos and includes jumping over the fire and singing satirical songs.
The memory of Agia Methodia is celebrated each year on October, 5th. Agia Methodia is the patron saint of the island.
On November, 21st, the island celebrates the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple. Virgin Mary is patron saint of Kimolos and this day is very important for the whole island. On the eve day, a service takes place in the Metropolitan Church followed by the litany of the icon in the streets of Chorio. A big festival follows with food and drinks.
On July 27 a big festival is organized at Prasa in honor of Agios Panteleimon. The festival includes plenty of food and wine accompanied by local music.
