The Emilianos family came to this islet in 1977. There was no trace of trees, water or electricity on the island at that time. The family then created a small green oasis that accommodates for accommodation and food several visitors from around the world, during the summer months.
Marathi or Marathos is an islet of the Dodecanese and belongs to the cluster of Arki. It is located just opposite the village of Arki, east of Patmos. The island, although extremely small, with an area of ​​only 355 acres and with a total coastline of about 4 kilometers, is inhabited and has a small settlement with a beach. 
The climate in Marathi is the mild climate of the Aegean islands, with mild winters and cool summers.
