Drepano beach
One of the best spots for kitesurfing in mainland Greece, located 16kms east from Patra, the biggest port in Peloponnese.
It is a pebbled beach and the spot to launch kites is relatively small. The water is clear but you may find sea urchins.
Tips
A sand strip creates a small peninsula and two separate playgrounds: flat on one side, which is best suited for beginners, and choppy on the other which is perfect for freestyling.
Winds blow from every direction year-round, although surfers should expect mainly north, northeast and southwest winds. From June to October side-shore, thermal and stable winds usually blow from 2pm to 8pm.
