Aristi is a mountain village in the prefecture of Ioannina, on the west side of Zagori, 48 km northwest of the city of Ioannina. In the north, flows the Voidomatis river, known as the cleanest river in Europe, with a unique aesthetic identity, being one of the most ideal rivers for rafting and kayaking. The village until the 1928 it was called Artsista but it was then renamed to Aristi. Aristi has remained unchanged over time and has been characterized as traditional settlement.

It is believed that the population of Aristi comes from residents of the abandoned village of Vopati as well as from Agios Minas. During the 19th century there was a strong migration wave from Aristi to Serbia. It is one of the first of the Zagorochoria villages, to have a school, which was financed by the contributions of the neighboring monastery of Spilaiotissa.

Aristi, apart from the dense vegetation, it also has many well-preserved stone mansions. It is a beautiful village with cobbled cobbled streets, the central square with the plane tree, the imposing church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary with the tall bell tower, the old fountain and traditional cafes. Nearby are the ruins of a settlement - fortress of the Byzantine period and the impressive monastery of Panagia Spiliotissa, built around 1579.

In recent years it has become a popular tourist destination, due to its easy access to most of the sights of the area. As a result of the large tourist development you can find many hotels and restaurants.
