Agios Ioannis Monastery of Skiathos
The monastery of Agios Ioannis Pashalatos or Kryfo is on the other side of the 'Kounistra' mountain and it was built in 1726. The name 'Kryfo' comes from the Kryfo Scholio (secret school) that operated in the monastery during Turkocracy, where educated monks taught.
