Vitsi Ski Resort
Vitsi ski resort is located inside a dense beech forest in the region of Kastoria, in West Macedonia. It offers 2.6 km of marked trails with 62% (1.6 km) of the total trails ideal for beginners and 38% (1 km) of the total trails being suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The central slope is divided in such way that half its width is used by skiers, whereas the other half by snowboarders with points for leaps on this half. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,610 and 1,875 m. and is served by 3 lifts. The resort is very famous amongst ski lovers for its excellent services and the magnificent view of lake Orestiada. It includes a café, a bar and a restaurant with good food and great view. Being only 22 km away from the city of Kastoria, gives you the chance to explore the historic city and the nearby area. A trip to the resort can also be combined with visits to Prespes Lakes and to the picturesque village of Nymfeo. The road to the resort is daily cleaned by snow-ploughs operated by the Kastoria Prefectural Authority, making the trip very safe. Its lifts are open on weekends and holidays from 10:00 to 16:00, but also on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 14:00 to 17:00. The Vitsi Ski Resort has been operating since 1985 under the supervision of the Alpine and Ski Club of Kastoria.
