Pertouli Ski Resort
Pertouli ski resort is located in the region of Trikala in Western Greece. It started operating in 1985 and is one of the best winter destinations in Greece. It offers 2 km of marked trails with 25% (0.5 km) of the total trails ideal for beginners and 75% (1.5 km) of the total trails being suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. It has in total three downhill trails and three Lang-Lauf runs of 1,500 m,2,500 m and 3,700 m length each. However, Pertouli ski resort is not recommended for expert skiers and snowboarders as the slopes are short and smooth and very crowded at the weekends. The altitude at the bottom of the resort is 1,170 meters and on the top 1,370 meters with a vertical drop of 200 meters. All the trails are served by three lifts, including a baby lift for beginners. A parking area is available near the lifts as well as a ski learning school, equipment rentals and a first aid center. There are two chalets, one at the base and one at the top of the mountain with a restaurant and panoramic views across the mountains.
The ski resort was founded in 1984 with the installation of a small sliding lift. Since then, new slopes have been formed and new lifts have been installed. The parking area was widened and a chalet was constructed. The central slope was lightened so night skiing is now possible. During the operation time many happenings take place in the resort. On its premises there isn’t any lodgment but there lots of hotels and guesthouses in the nearby villages of Pertouli, Elati and Pyli. Pertouli Ski Resort operates daily from December to late March, from 09:00 a.m. to 15:30 p.m. The road connecting it with Trikala is good and clean even on days with heavy snowfall. Being so close to the cities of Trikala and Kalambaka, combines the prestige of a modern ski resort with many attractions including the stone bridge of Agios Vissarion in Pyli, the waterfalls of Palaiokarya and of course the famous monasteries in Meteora.
