Lailias Ski Resort

Lailias Ski Resort is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters on the north side of Mount Vrontou, in Central Macedonia, Greece. Surrounded by pine and beech forests, the ski resort was established in 1978 by the Hellenic Alpine Club of Serres and offers 1.4 km of marked trails with 67% (1 km) of the total trails ideal for beginners and 33% (0.5 km) of the total trails being suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. There is also a lang-lauf slope authorized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). All the ski trails all easily accessible with a 1,050 meters long lift able to transfer up to 700 people per hour. The highlight is the night skiing every Saturday night, as the slope is equipped with the necessary lighting.

A ski learning school for beginners, ski equipment and snowmobile rentals and a nice chalet with a restaurant and a café are available near the lifts. The chalet can host a small number of guests but the mountain shelter can host up to 80 people per night. The shelter is run by the Hellenic Alpine Club of Serres and is located 3 km away from the lifts. It is open throughout the year and during summer serves as a camp for children 8 to 15 years old. Lailias Ski Resort is located 26 km away from Serres and 110 km from Thessaloniki. Despite the mountain’s medium altitude, the north orientation of the resort helps snow to be preserved for many months, making ski season last longer than it does in other resorts in Greece. The ski resort operates from December to March, from Fridays to Sundays and on public holidays from 09:00 a.m. to 16 p.m.
