Bridge of Tsagarada
The stone bridge of Tsagarada which is considered as the oldest bridge of Pelion, is located at the entrance of the village, where the gorge of Mylopotamos starts. It bridges the banks of Mylopotamos river, located between Tsagarada and Xurichti village. From the bridge passes the trail that starts from Milies and after crossing part of the mountain ends in Tsagarada.
To reach the stone bridge is very easy. On the main road, at the entrance of the village there is a sign with the indication "old bridge" which marks the stone cobbled path that descends between plane and chestnut trees, leading to the bridge. Next to the bridge there are benches where you can rest and relax listening to the rustle of leaves and the sound of running water.
Unfortunately, on 11/2/2021, stormy winds blowing in the area of Tsagarada uprooted a plane tree that fell on the bridge, resulting in the collapse of the historic bridge. The local authorities have pointed out how important it is to make all the necessary actions and studies for the restoration of the bridge since it was a landmark of the area and a tourist attraction.
