Portes is a fishing village 12.5 km from the port of Aegina on the eastern side of the island. It has a few old houses and many newly built holiday residences. The most common way to go to Portes is to take the road out of Agia Marina, turn left and going ahead to Alones (you will see the relevant sign).
The picturesque landscape and the tranquility of the scenery attract visitors who are looking for non crowded vacations. Surely you must swim in the crystal-clear waters of the beach full of pebbles, in which the pine trees reach the edge of the sea. To satisfy all visitors the area has a second sandy beach.
In Portes there is a small picturesque harbor for the fishing boats and taverns overlooking the sea that serve fresh fish.
