Vathi
Vathi is a cute little coastal village on the northeast coast of Meganisi, in the Ionian Sea. Ferry boats connect its picturesque port with Nidri, in the neighboring island of Lefkada. Vathi lies in the innards of a deep, well protected bay and provides good shelter from the prevailing winds, making it a popular mooring spot for yachts and other sailing boats. It features a modern marina with water and electricity facilities, established in the outer harbor.
The small fishing village has developed into a tourist resort in the past decades with cafes and taverns lined up along the waterfront where fresh fish and other local delicacies are served. On the ridge of the surrounding hills stand a few old abandoned windmills which supplied the local community with flour until the beginning of World War II. Vathi is an authentic Greek village, ideal for relaxation and nice walks.
