Gitzi Lake
The Gitzi Lake is a small but beautiful natural wetland in the plain of Trikala, Central Greece. The lake is fed from groundwater sources and is home to several species of birds that live there all year-round. The Lake’s Friends Association shaped the surrounding area and turned the place into a visitable recreation area with nice footpaths and a playground for children. Lake Gitzi is now a dreamy place where locals and visitors can enjoy nice walks and feel the serenity of nature offers. The lake is just a breath away from Trikala (9 km) and is well worth a visit if you are planning to visit Trikala.
