Syros Airport “Dimitrios Vikelas” (IATA: JSY) is the main gateway to Syros Island in the Cyclades, offering quick and easy access just 2 km from the capital, Ermoupoli. Thanks to its central location, the airport is easily reachable from all parts of the island. Opened in 1991, the airport is named after Dimitrios Vikelas, the distinguished Greek writer and intellectual born in Syros.
The airport has a single terminal and operates mainly domestic flights in Greece, with regular year-round connections to Athens and seasonal flights to Thessaloniki during the summer. For passengers’ convenience, facilities include a small café inside the terminal and a parking area just outside.
Today, Syros Airport is managed under the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), with future plans for modernization, private sector operation, and upgrades to further improve services and the overall passenger experience.
