Palaio Trikeri

Paleo Trikeri is an islet and settlement of the prefecture of Magnesia and is located at the entrance of the Pagasitic Gulf. Administratively it belongs to the community of Trikeri. The highest point of the island is 109m. On the island is the monastery of Panagia Evangelistria, built in the 19th century. The island is covered by dense vegetation consisting mainly of olive groves and is quite reminiscent of the vegetation of the opposite shore. To the north is the small islet of Pythos. Paleo Trikeri was a place of exile for women during the civil war. There are no cars or roads on the island. For the visitor, the 85 km from Volos is a wonderful coastal route to Alogoporo and in less than 5 minutes the sea taxi will get you to the island.
