Kastellorizo Airport (KZS) is located in the centre of Kastellorizo, approximately 2.5 km from Megisti, the island's main settlement. The airport has been operating since 1986 and serves as the island's main air connection with the rest of Greece.
The airport has a small terminal of around 150 square metres and is designed to handle small aircraft. Flights are operated mainly to and from Rhodes, making the island's airport particularly useful for travellers connecting through Rhodes before continuing to Kastellorizo.
Getting to Kastellorizo Airport
The airport is located a short distance from Megisti, but there is no regular public bus service. Taxis and minibuses provide the main means of transport between the airport and the town. Because Kastellorizo is a small island, the journey to the settlement is relatively short.
Airport Facilities
Facilities at Kastellorizo Airport are limited, reflecting the airport's small size and the island's scale. There are no car or motorbike rental companies, restaurants, cafés, duty-free shops or souvenir shops at the airport.
Travellers should therefore arrange any necessary transport, car or motorbike rental and other services in advance or use the facilities available in Megisti. The airport is primarily a point of arrival and departure rather than a full-service passenger terminal.
