Acropolis of Agios Nikitas
It is located in the northeastern part of Sifnos, in the area of "Seladi" on the hill of Andri. South of Cherronissos and north of Apollonia, the ancient Acropolis of Agios Nikitas owes its name to the homonymous chapel that is built next to it.
Its Mycenaean walls date back to the 6th century BC, during which the ancient settlement of Kastro was in its peak. Access to the archaeological site of the Aghios Nikitas Acropolis is not the easiest.
The path that starts from the road of Apollonia-Cheronissos is uphill and requires several minutes of hiking.
