Pori beach

Pori is a large beach, lying in a half moon shaped bay, filled with fine, golden sand and crystal clear, turquoise waters. It is considered as the best beach on the island and one of the most beautiful and exotic beaches in the whole Cyclades. It is very popular, attracting lots of visitors especially July and August. The sea is very gradual in terms of depth, making the beach a favorite destination for young swimmers.  Snorkeling is also quite good, with lots of fish to see. Pori offers little to no shade and you won't find any parasols and sunbeds. The beach is protected from southern and western winds but is vulnerable to northern winds, so try to avoid it when such winds blow in the area. It is located in a natural bay 3.5 km from Chora, the capital of the island.

On the beach there are two restaurants offering drinks and food. To reach the beach is very easy and there are 4 alternative ways. Either by road with your own vehicle, by local bus from the main port, by boats or if you love hiking you can follow the path along the coast. Its less than an hour's walk from Chora via a scenic route. Worth visiting the caves of Xylombati, Gala beach and the cave ‘The Eye of the Devil’, situated near Pori.
