Kastanas beach
Kastanas is a totally secluded beach on the north-east coast of Milos Island. It lies in the middle of a fairly isolated area, far from villages and main roads, offering peace and relaxation to visitors. The beach has coarse sand mixed with multicolored pebbles and emerald green waters, and is surrounded by colorful rock formations in various shades of red, orange and purple. Seabed is rocky and wearing sea shoes would be a good idea. As you can guess, there are no facilities, so you should be equipped with all the basics including plenty of water. Access is very difficult and the best way to get there is by a quad or a 4x4. Driving a conventional car would not be recommended. There are a few signs on the way pointing towards the beach but a GPS would probably be necessary. If you like adventure and isolated beaches, Kastanas beach is a wonderful place to spend the day. Moreover, snorkeling fans will love this place. Discovering the rich sea life is for sure a unique experience.
