A Secluded Sandy Paradise on Naxos’ Eastern Coast

Psili Ammos Beach, also known as Kanaki, is a serene and secluded gem on the eastern coast of Naxos. This unspoiled stretch of golden sand is framed by rolling dunes, fragrant cedar trees, and crystal-clear turquoise waters, offering a tranquil escape far from the island’s busier beaches. With stunning views toward the Koufonisia Islands, it's the perfect spot for those seeking peace, privacy, and the raw beauty of the Cyclades.

The shallow, warm waters make it particularly suitable for families with small children, while its natural beauty and calm atmosphere attract nature lovers and solitude seekers alike.

Psili Ammos is not organized, so you won’t find sunbeds, umbrellas, or beach bars. We recommend packing your own supplies, including plenty of water, snacks, and especially a beach umbrella— While the cedar trees provide natural shade, these spots can be limited, especially during peak hours.

Getting to Psili Ammos Beach

Located on the eastern side of Naxos, Psili Ammos lies between Moutsouna and Panermos. You can reach it by following the coastal dirt road heading south from Moutsouna. While the route is scenic and relatively easy to drive, signage is limited, so drive with care. The easiest way to find the beach is to navigate toward Theonis Villas. Once there, park nearby and take the adjacent footpath leading directly to the shore.

  2. From Apeiranthos: 19.8 km (~32 minutes)

Despite its remote location, Psili Ammos Beach is one of Naxos’ most rewarding coastal spots—a must-visit destination for beach lovers exploring the island’s quieter, more natural side.
