Chrissi Akti (Golden) beach
This is probably one of the nicest beaches in Greece. It is a long sandy beach with clear and clean water. The beach has something for everyone, from the gently sloping sand that allows families to enjoy the water without fears of children getting out of their depth, to the full range of sun worshipping. You can choose to lay your towel for free or pay for loungers and an umbrella. If you are looking for peace, you can bring your own parasol and sit on the quitter less crowded part of the beach. Sand is golden as the name suggests, so if you are looking for a beach that is easy on your feet, then you must visit Golden Beach. It does get a bit wind here and the water is refreshing. The beach is well known for wind surfing events that take place here every summer with participants from all over the world. You can watch the windsurfers all day or be daring and take a shot at it. They have smaller ones for kids to try and offer various other water activities for adventurous too.
There are several bars and restaurants along the coast and lunch is served by the beach. It is easy to get to by car or bus and there is a fair amount of parking. Bus service is frequent until quite late and bus stop is a short walk from the beach. If you fancy a walk, you can walk along the coastal path from here to Dryos which in itself is a pleasant stroll. This gorgeous beach is set on Paros east coast, overlooking the tiny islet of Dryonisi. Chrissi Akti (Golden Beach) is a great place to swim and perfect for windsurfers when the wind picks up.
