Agios Sostis beach

The beach of Agios Sostis is one of the most beautiful of Serifos. It is located on the east coast of the island, 5.5 km from Chora. It is named after the small, picturesque chapel of Agios Sostis located on the small peninsula on its side. The peninsula is connected to the island by a strip of sand. On the left side of the strip, another bay is formed, where you can find the beach of North Plakoto. However, that beach usually suffers by strong north winds, as a result of which, it has high waves making it not suitable for swimming.

A visit to the small chapel of Agios Sostis is a must. The view of the beach from the courtyart of the church is really magnificent. Do not forget to take your camera with you. Below the chapel, there is a small pier from where you can dive into the sea. Agios Sostis is covered with golden sand and there are some tamarisk trees at the beginning of the beach that offer natural shade. Opposite is the small islet of Vous. Agios Sostis has shallow, turquoise waters making it the perfect beach for families with young children.

It is not organized, so you should be equipped with all the necessary. To reach the beach is relatively easy. Halfway from the beach of Livadi to Psili Ammos you will find a sign that will direct you to Agios Sostis. After 500 meters, you will find the parking lot. From that point a dirt path starts that leads to the beach. The walking distance from the parking lot is relatively short. If you are in Serifos on September 6th, do not miss the big feast organized in the chapel in honor of the Saint.
