Megas Potamos beach
Located on the southern side of Anafi, just past the popular Katalimatsa Beach, Megas Potamos Beach is a secluded paradise offering a peaceful escape. This serene beach features a combination of sand and pebbles, complemented by crystal-clear waters. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Kalamos monolith, a striking 460-meter-high rock that dominates the landscape.
While the beach remains untouched by tourism infrastructure, a small cluster of trees at one end provides natural shade, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. As there are no facilities available, it's advisable to bring your own water and snacks for a comfortable visit.
Megas Potams Boeach is the ideal destination for those seeking an unspoiled and tranquil atmosphere, away from the crowds. It is located just 9.8 km (about 21 minutes) from Chora, the main town of Anafi, and 8.1 km (approximately 17 minutes) from the Agios Nikolaos port. The beach can be accessed by ATV, motorbike, or by taking a bus to the Megas Potamos stop, followed by a short walk. This scenic path also passes through Agioi Anargyroi Beach, with another coastal trail leading to another hidden beach on Anafi's southern coast.
