Fykiada beach
Fykiada is a wonderful remote beach on the south coast of Sifnos Island. It is a small beach with golden soft sand and clear blue water. Moreover, it is a great place for snorkeling and a remarkable fishing spot. The beach can only be reached by boat or by walking. There are two trails leading to Fykiada: one starts from Platis Gialos (55’ mins) and the other near Vathy (35’ mins). Both trails are well signed with a low degree of difficulty and offer gorgeous views. The descent towards the remote bay of Fykiada is one of the best on Sifnos.
The beach is totally isolated and the only structure is the small chapel of Agios Georgios (St. George). Behind the church you can discover traces of an old cart roar. There is no shade, so you should carry your own umbrella and plenty of water as well as some snacks. This pristine beach is surrounded by green hills and offers peace and relaxation. If you are looking for unspoiled beaches away from crowds and you are a hiking lover, you will definately love this one. And if you are lucky, you can have it all for yourself.
