Pachia Ammos beach

For most visitrors, Pachia Ammos (meaning "thick sand" in Greek), is the most beautiful beach of Samothrace and they are right. It is one of the few sandy beaches on the island and definitely the most popular one. Crystal-clear, blue waters and fine sand in the middle of a large cove, compose the setting of the lovely beach. The water slopes gently, making it ideal for families with young kids. If you like snorkeling, you will find some interesting spots near the cliffs, on both sides. The few tamarisk trees behind the beach offer natural shade but the area is mainly covered with shrubs and bushes. The right side of the beach is organized with sun loungers, parasols and a beach bar. Ιn short distance you can find a tavern and some rooms to rent.

Pachia Ammos is located at the southern tip of Samothrace, about 20 kilometers from Kamariotissa, the port of the island. It can easily be reached via the road that crosses the western part of the island. It is a 30 minutes’ drive, through olive groves and picturesque villages. At the end of the road there is plenty of space to park. In high season, public buses run regular itineraries to the beach.
