Kolibithra beach

Kolymbithra beach is located in the north part of the island, about 15 km from Tinos Town. It actually consists of 2 beaches, one large and one small. The largest has no sun beds but you can rent the mushroom umbrellas and it has a retro campervan for snacks and drinks. The other is a deeper bay with loads of sunbeds, beach service and a couple of tavernas. This one seems more sheltered from the wind and is a lively family orientated beach, not one to chill and relax. The small one is called “Mikri Ammos” and always seems to be over crowded as the bay is more sheltered and there are volleyball competitions. On the other hand, the one on the surfing side is called “Megali Ammos”, has a fancy spirit and is focus on surf. It usually has high waves and underwater currents, so is recommended for surfers and confident swimmers and all who love quiet beaches. A surfing school located on the beach provides surfing lessons. Both beaches are stunning, absolutely beautiful with clear waters and fine sand. Water easy to get into and the Dragon Island, near the beach. Megali Ammos is adjacent to a wetland with mud and reeds, which hosts migratory birds during winter.

Reaching the beach is easy, through the provincial road that connects Komi with the coastal village. During the summer season, buses run regularly, connecting the bay with Tinos Town.
