Agios Konstantinos beach
Astypalaia has several beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters like Kaminakia, Livadi and Vatses. Agios Konstantinos beach is an equally beautiful beach with fantastic views of Chora and the castle of Querini. It has the special charm of being a “pure” beach as there is nothing else around, other than the beach, a beach bar and a small taverna. The beach has taken its name from a small chapel that stands on a hill at its eastern end.
The coast is covered with sand and pebbles and the water is very clean and fresh. You can find enough shade as there are a few trees and for those who prefer to lie on a sunbed, there are quite a few. There is a lovely beach bar serving cold drinks, coffees and snacks as well as a taverna serving tasty food and fresh fish.
Agios Konstantinos beach lies in the southeastern part of the island, just after Tzanakia. It is a 15 min drive (7 km) from the main town, half the journey being on dirt track roads. At the end of the road there is a large parking lot. Its only disadvantage is that it is vulnerable to winds and can be very wavy.
