Kalamies beach
Kalamies is a lovely wide beach with crystal-clear, turquoise waters and lush greenery that almost reaches the sea. It lies a few kilometers before Emporios village, in a bay well protected from strong winds even in very poor weather conditions. The small islet right in front of it helps the sea remain calm even when strong winds blow in the area. The sea is quite stony, and it can be tricky to get into the water in some places. On the beach there is a tavern that serves food and drinks. Sunbeds and umbrellas made of palm leaves are also available. Canoes and kayaks are offered freely to visitors in order to explore the surrounding sea area.
