Agrilaopotamos beach
Agrilaopotamos beach is an excellent spot for surf lovers due to the strong winds that usually blow in the area. Much more suitable for surfing than for swimming, Agrilaopotamos is a secluded beach with golden sand and crystal-clear water in the southern part of Karpathos. The seabed is mainly sand with some pebbles in places and the sea deepens slowly. The beach has a canteen with all the basics but you cannot find any sun beds or parasols to rent. Access is easy and there is a parking lot at the back of the beach. Due to the strong winds, it never gets overcrowded, but it is a good place to go and see all those surfers practicing their skills. The nearest accommodation options are in Afiartis, a few kilometers away.
