A Pristine Golden Bay Nestled in Northern Andros
Zorkos Beach is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches on Andros, located on the island's northeastern coast. Set inside a sheltered bay, it is famous for its golden sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters and peaceful natural surroundings, making it one of the best beaches in Andros.
The beach is spacious, so even during the busy summer months it rarely feels crowded. The seabed deepens quite quickly, making it ideal for confident swimmers, while the exceptionally clear waters are perfect for snorkeling and exploring the rocky edges of the bay. Zorkos is also a favourite spot for fishing enthusiasts.
One of the beach's greatest attractions is its tranquil atmosphere. As the afternoon draws to a close and most visitors leave, the bay becomes wonderfully peaceful, with only the sound of the waves breaking the silence. If you're an early riser, the sunrise over the Aegean Sea is equally spectacular and well worth experiencing.
Despite its natural beauty, Zorkos Beach offers good visitor facilities, including sunbeds, umbrellas and a traditional seaside taverna serving fresh fish and local specialties with beautiful views across the bay.
The beach is located about 30 minutes from Gavrio. The final part of the route follows a wide, well-maintained dirt road that is clearly signposted (also marked as Aegea) and is suitable for most vehicles.
