Chrissi Ammos beach
Chrissi Ammos is a stunning beach with golden soft sand and clear turquoise water in the northwest coast of Andros Island. The beach is protected from the wind and shelve gently into the sea, so perfect for kids and very safe on a windy summer day. The little ones enjoy playing on the sand and swimming safely in the shallow water. This long beach is well-organized with all the amenities, including umbrellas and sun loungers but there is also plenty of room if you want to bring your own umbrella. There is a snack kiosk which offers plenty of drinks and food and plays music. The music gets blasted all over the beach and you can hear it even at the far end, so if you are looking for a quiet place to spend the day, this is not the right place for you. But young crowds seem to enjoy loud music and dancing on the golden sand and the bar is their favorite spot. Watersports are available and a beach volleyball court too.
Chrissi Ammos is with no doubt one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of Andros. Being so popular, becomes very crowded, so you’d better get there early to find an umbrella. The beach is located on the road from Gavrio to Batsi and is easily accessible by car, moto or bus. If you are looking for a place to stay or to eat, there is a great choice of accommodation options and taverns in the wider area. The beach has so much to offer and is definitely a beach you should add in your bucket list.
