Agios Stefanos beach

Agios Stefanos Beach is one of the most photographed beaches on the island of Kos. A few meters from the seawater there are ruins of paleo-Christian churches of the 5th or 6th century. There are beaches on both sides of the ruins. Exactly opposite of Agios Stefanos is the island of Kastri, a small rock in the sea on which the small chapel of Agios Nikolaos stands. If you want to explore the island, you can swim the short distance that separates it from the beach. The waters between the island and the beach are shallow.

In Agios Stefanos nature and history come together making it one of the most popular beaches. It is a long sandy beach, with crystal-clear, shallow waters ideal for families with young children. The beach is located in the bay of Kefalos, 3 km from the village of Kefalos and about 40 km south of the city of Kos. The beach is organized with beach bar, umbrellas and sunbeds and a variety of water sports are available. In Agios Stefanos you can rent a sunbed or look for less crowded parts of the beach to enjoy the view and relax.
