Cavo Paradiso beach

Cavo Paradiso beach

Kavo Paradiso is probably the most secluded beach of Kos and definitely one of the most beautiful on the island. It is located in the southern part of Kos, about half an hour from the village of Kefalos. Although is known as Kavo Paradiso, the real Greek name of the area is Ormos Chilandriou or Silandri.

As you come down to the beach you will have a breathtaking view of the coastline.  Its turquoise waters, fine golden sand and beauty almost untouched by human hands, lend a wild yet welcoming air to this pristine bay. It is worth climbing to the top of the rock where Vriokastro is located, from which the view to the beach is also impressive. At the edge of the beach there is an interesting rock formation with a through hole. To get there you can either swim or walk but you will most probably need shoes.

The beach stretches for a few kilometers and is partially organized with a beach bar, some umbrellas and sunbeds. Even if the dozen or so umbrellas are taken, you can drift away from the crowds and find your own little private area.

It is quite difficult to reach the beach as the road is mostly an off-road way. If you go there by car be sure to go with a 4WD type. Due to this difficulty, the beach remains, almost untouched and quiet. To reach Cape Paradiso you must follow the road to Agios Mamas and from there the signs that will take you to the beach. Kavo Paradiso is exposed to south winds which makes it ideal for surfing.
