Grikos beach
Grikos beach sits in a really nice bay with views of the hills, the 'Stone of Kalikatsou’ and Tragonisi Island. The Stone of Kalikatsou is a big rock connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land and can be approached by walking along the beach. The beach itself has very fine grit rather than soft sand and gently shelving seabed with quite a few fish to see if you are in to snorkeling. The water is clear and always calm because the bay is protected by Tragonisi Islet, therefore it is very safe for very small kids. There are umbrellas and loungers to hire and several tavernas in close proximity. There are also a lot of big trees, offering dense shadow for many people. Grikos beach is very popular to the locals and gets quite busy. Access is easy and there is a lot of free parking very close to the beach. At a small distance from Skala, Grikos is connected with it by regular bus services. Grikos beach is a must visit whilst on Patmos.
