Akti Miaouli beach
Miaouli beach is one of the most central beaches of the city of Rhodes. This sand and shingle beach is situated to the left of the aquarium and stretches for several kilometers long. Akti Maiouli is nowhere near as ‘sheltered’ as is Elli Beach and there are often rather strong waves, but it’s a great place to relax and catch some terrific sunsets. As the beach is on the western side of the island, winds are often strong and no wonder why sometimes locals call the beach “Windy beach”. The sea water here can take on any number of hues and is great for swimming when it is calm. Although it is just a short walk from the city center, it is not as crowded as the neighboring beach of Elli. The beach is surrounded by luxury hotels, cafes and restaurants and is well-organized with sun beds, showers and changing cabins. Here visitors can sun bathe, enjoy water sports or just walk along the coast and enjoy magnificent views. The beach can be accessed on foot from the city of Rhodes, making it very convenient for locals and tourists.
