Kalathos beach
Kalathos Beach on Rhodes Island is a rather shingle beach with nice sea that steps down reasonably steeply in places. Water is clean and swimming in the crystal clear green and blue water is amazing. The real gem though is the beautiful sea life to observe. The beach is very big, so it never becomes crowded and there is no problem finding a spot to lay your own towel. There are plenty of large deserted stretches for those who want to sunbathe in peace and relax. Keep in mind that the shingle is hot so make sure you bring your shoes. There are beds with umbrellas for hire and a few tavernas on the beach. You can also hire jet ski or take a lazy day boat trip. The beach is situated 7km north of Lindos and is easily accessible by bus. On the whole, it is a great place to walk, swim and just laze in the sun. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
