Toli beach
A really beautiful secluded bay on the far side of the island of Symi. Toli Bay whether by sea or by road is certainly well worth a visit. It is quite a drive from Symi, but if you make it, you will not be disappointed. You can go by boat or by car but the best way we think is by quad. If you walk from the harbor it takes about 2.5 hours. Because of the journey, it does remain quite quiet which is perfect if you want to relax. There is always a gentle breeze and the water is lovely to swim in. The beach itself is very pebbly but the sea is lovely and clear. If you are not used to pebbly beaches, you will need sea shoes to go into the sea. There are plenty of sun beds and a concreted area that has been converted into a lido-type with sun beds. You can spend a long day on the beach within a meter of the waves as the sun sets late as it's a westerly facing. There is a tavern that overlooks the scenic Toli Bay and according to several reviews is excellent. The beach itself isn't the best on the island but it is worthwhile the trip!
