Agios Georgios beach
What makes this beach special, is its stunning location looking over to the majestic temple complex on the adjacent island of Despotiko. It has loungers and umbrellas to rent if you like that sort of thing but also plenty of free space to have your own little area. A good parking area is available just behind and a few restaurants nearby provide local food and drinks. On a windy day, this beach is the only hope to get into the water.
The beach itself is secluded and small with sand and clear water however, the shoreline goes directly to wet sand and then lots of pebble - like rocks. There are families, couples and singles on this beach and it isn’t usually very crowded. You can swim to the small islet of Tsimintiri from there which is only 300 meters away or you can take a boat ride to the archaeological dig of Despotiko. Agios Georgios beach is an easy drive south of the island and there is a bus the whole day from Antiparos Town to the beach. All in all, Agios Georgios is a rustic beach and a nice place to spend a relaxing day.
