Pondamos beach
This is a beautiful beach with comfy sun beds and places to be under the trees if you prefer. The beach is sandy and the scenery breathtaking. The water is clear and very shallow. You need to go somewhat in to reach deeper water, which is perfect for families with children or anyone afraid of deep waters. There are changing cabins, toilets and a taverna right on the beach. The view of the bay from the beach is spectacular. On one side there are two beautiful churches set into the rocky headland with two iconic windmills in the background. The other side is a rugged rocky landscape with a mountainous backdrop. This is the closest beach to the main harbor and reachable on foot within a 10-minute walk. It is a bit of a trek but take the coast road to walk back into the Town for great views. Pontamos beach is a great place to relax, enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful scenery of the bay, then cool off in the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea.
