Atspas beach

Atspas beach is located close to Skala Maries on the south west corner of Thassos island. The beach is a small enclave of fine sand that leads to a narrow gulf. Water is very clean and stays shallow for a long way out. There is a beach bar on the beach for cold drinks and snacks and a volleyball net if you fancy getting active. Despite it is small size, it is packed with sun loungers which cover most of the front of the beach, however there is plenty of space behind and bit to each side, to lay out a towel on the sand. Thanks to the mountains and trees surrounding the beach from either side, the waters are always calm and safe for young children. Reaching the beach by land is easy and there is a parking lot at the rear of the beach. Even though it is small size and very busy during peak season, it is a peaceful beach and undoubtedly one of the best on Thassos. Atspas beach is around 6km from Limenaria and about 30-40 minutes’ drive from Limenas, the capital and main port of Thassos island. In the nearby village you can find studios and rooms to rent and a few shops for all the basics.
