Agia Irini beach
Agia Irini is a small beach with amazing water on the southwestern coast of Chios, 30 km south west of Chios Town. It lies in a sheltered bay facing the tiny islet of Agios Stefanos and is named after the small chapel of St. Irina, standing nearby. It is a calm beach with thin sand mixed with fine pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters. It offers peace and is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation but also for those who enjoy snorkeling and fishing. Furthermore, it is a good choice for all travelers seeking a pristine beach combined with amazing natural beauty.
There aren’t any facilities available such as parasols and sunbeds but there is a family-run tavern which is open from May until the end of summer. To top it off, you can watch the sunset from your table while the courses keep coming. At the edge of the bay, has been built a small shelter for local fishermen.
