Potami beach

Nestled between the beaches of Dymies and Agia Irini on the western coast of Chios, Potami Beach is a small, secluded haven that offers the perfect escape. With its fine white pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters, it’s the ideal spot for those seeking peace and relaxation in a quiet, beautiful setting. As Potami Beach is not organized, we recommend bringing water, snacks, and anything else you might need for a comfortable day by the sea.

Surrounded by pine trees and lush greenery, the natural beauty of Potami Beach is truly mesmerizing. The stunning backdrop of the turquoise waters and the two small islets—Nisaki and Pelagonisos—across the beach only add to the charm, making it one of Chios’s most picturesque spots. The beach is exposed to northern winds, which can bring high waves on windy days. If you're looking for calm, tranquil waters, it’s best to visit on a quieter day. However, for those who enjoy a bit of adventure, the waves add a playful touch to the beach’s charm, offering a fun way to embrace the rugged beauty of the coastline.

Perfect for those who crave solitude, Potami Beach is rarely crowded, offering the tranquility and serenity you need for a peaceful day at the sea. The beach is located 28 kilometers (43 minutes) from Chios Town, 5.4 kilometers (10 minutes) from the medieval village of Elata, and 8.7 kilometers (15 minutes) from the charming village of Mesta. Access is easy, but be prepared to walk a few meters from the main road to reach the shoreline.
