A beautiful bay with lovely surroundings and splendid view across the bay. The beach itself is a long and narrow sandy strip with only a couple of rows of sunbeds but with enough room at either end of the beach to set up your own beds or lay down a towel or two. The sea shelves gently, is safe and clean. The water is crystal clear and great for snorkeling and watersports. There is a small jetty used by water taxis from Skiathos Town and various water experiences on offer. The beach has a tavern, open during the day and in the evenings too. The only thing is that you have to get there pretty early as there are limited amount of sun beds and space but it is so worth it.
Kanapista Beach is about a mile along a reasonably surfaced road from the main road at bus stop 12, however, it is best accessed via water taxi from the old port, as it is a bit of a trek from Bus Stop 12 (all uphill), unless you have a car. Reaching it by car is easy and there is good parking in a grassy field behind the beach.
